The Idea Path Model

The idea path model was designed to help students and advisors chart venture development over the year as the team moves from idea to reality.

Key lectures, presentations, assignments, and course materials are color-coded in one of five categories:

I Innovation
II Validation
III Executables (Strategy and Foundation)
IV Business Plan
V Execution and Launch

While the idea path is not strictly linear, venture teams must complete and test out of each of the 5 phases before moving to the next.

At the end of each phase, teams present results for review. Based on the presentation and feedback from other advisors, faculty, and VIPs, team’s evaluators will determine whether or not the venture is positioned to move forward.
