Hispanic Serving Institution

UA President Peter Likins announced in 2003 that he wanted the UA to become a Hispanic Serving Institution. In order to become an HIS, 25 percent of the student population must be Hispanic.

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship’s entrepreneurship programs and courses lead to viable professional outcomes and can support virtually any individual choice. The Center is dedicated to a continued focus on the cultural and ethnic heritage of Southern Arizona.

The Associates in Borderlands Business Development program and scholarship program, membership in formal and informal UA outreach activities, and the Bi-National Technology Transfer Initiative are examples of individual these programs.
