For over 20 years, the McGuire Entrepreneurship Program and McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship have been nationally recognized leaders in collegiate entrepreneurship education. Among the first such programs in the country, the center has been a pioneer in a most dynamic and innovative discipline. The center’s programs and initiatives have literally helped to define the industry.

New Venturing, Corporate Venturing, Social Venturing...

Innovation and excellence are at the core of the center’s vision, which blends academics, research, and outreach to create cutting-edge approaches to entrepreneurship education. In the McGuire Program, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and champions of social awareness learn key strategies, innovative processes, timeless and key foundations for effective and responsible business development, launch, and leadership.

Through a wide variety of classroom activities and related coursework, McGuire students learn and engage in entrepreneurial philosophies. They identify a business concept, conduct a comprehensive feasibility study, develop the concept though an exhaustive investment quality business plan, simulate and address new enterprise launch issues and challenges, and ultimately, present and defend the fully developed plan to panels of investors, CEOs, academics, and business leaders at the program’s capstone event—the McGuire Entrepreneurship Program Business Plans Competition.
