Associates in Technology Transfer Programs

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is pleased to invite applications for participation in the center's award winning Associates in Entrepreneurship Programs. Through these one-year certificate offerings, students from a variety of programs and disciplines across campus can participate in a year-long, innovative, dynamic, comprehensive program on the development of a new venture concept.
Associates programs include:
- Associate in Bio Industry and Life Sciences
- Associate in Borderlands Business Development
- Associate in Fine Arts
- Associate in Health Sciences and Services
- Associate in Media Arts and Communications
- Associate in Technology Transfer
- Associate in Entrepreneurship (general)
Associates students are admitted based on their ability to be productively engaged in a business planning team. Associate students bring a business idea to the program and build a team around it (this can be a faculty-generated business idea), or alternately, may bring a skill set or area of expertise specific to another student team's business concept. Both graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
In the associates programs, students learn how to approach business with an entrepreneurial mindset. This is the mindset that drives not only the creation of new business, but also the ability of new, small, family, technology, large, and not for profit and public sector businesses to expand in light of new opportunity or economic and market conditions. It is the mindset of the successful twenty-first century business, and the UA's Entrepreneurship Program is one of the oldest and highest ranked programs in the country.
A pioneer in entrepreneurship education, the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship's entrepreneurship program has helped to define the discipline, and is in fact a national model program, hosting over 30 programs per year in visits to the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship to learn the best practices developed here at the UA.
