Intern Program

The Entrepreneurship Internship Program at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship is one of the most successful pedagogical innovations developed here. Placing interns in new and nascent firms provide these students with exposure to the entrepreneurial philosophy in an industry or market segment appropriate to their own entrepreneurial goals.
Students not only work on the development of the venture side-by-side with the entrepreneur, they also increase their entrepreneurship learning capacity by writing case studies and entrepreneurial profiles based on their intern host organizations.
Focused Knowledge Transfer Internships
As part of the Tech/Knowledge Transfer focus, the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship has dedicated resources to focused internships, with the focus on technology/knowledge transfer. Students in these internships work under the leadership of the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship to advance research, get entrepreneurial exposure, do due diligence, evaluate the technology, and get the project to the critical decision making point. Examples include focused internships in 2005 entrepreneurship program technology transfer projects, eSMS and Frontera Learning. In both cases, students worked to advance the UA technology to a point that it could enter the entrepreneurship program for full-scale business planning.
