Business Plans & Competitions

Presenting and defending new venture plans in formal business plans competitions is an important and invaluable element of entrepreneurship education. It is only through complete and intimate knowledge of the venture concept that students can communicate and present it adequately.
Exposure to entrepreneurs, business community leaders, investors, and entrepreneurship faculty are other important contributors to the value of this entrepreneurship education tradition. In addition to the program's own year-end new venture competition, McGuire Entrepreneurship Program students participate in 6-10 national and international intercollegiate competitions each year and have one of the best competition records in the country.
Technology/knowledge transfer venture plans developed in the McGuire Entrepreneurship Program are among the most successful in formal competition. Both the nature of the new technology based products and services developed by world renown UA researchers and the high level of education delivery in the entrepreneurship program contribute to the making of great competitors!
