Working with You to Develop Business Management Skills and Grow Your Small Business

The McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship's Economic Development Programs fosters University of Arizona faculty, students, and staff to work with small businesses throughout Southern Arizona to develop and grow their businesses and improve the business owners' managerial skills.

We offer two types of learning experiences for small business owners in the community:

Business Certificate Program

An educational program for small business owners, the Business Certificate Program consists of six business classes covering diverse topics such as management, marketing, sales, accounting, finance, and legal issues. Taught in English or Spanish, the classes in business basics lead to a non-credit business certificate.

Business Consulting Program

The Eller Economic Development Program helps to grow small businesses through consulting offered by Eller College business students, with mentoring from faculty and volunteers from local businesses. Between six to eight businesses receive at least 600 student hours of consulting services each spring semester.
