Randolph Accetta

Communication Mentor in Residence, McGuire Entrepreneurship Program

Bio

Randy Accetta is the “Mentor-in-Residence, Communication” at the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management. He has been teaching students new venture communication strategies for McGuire since 2007. Randy previously taught in the Business Communication Program, and has twice been named the Eller College of Management Teacher of the Year and twice received Innovative Teaching Awards.

Randy holds a PhD from the UA’s Department of English. His current specialties include entrepreneurship education, business communication, sports marketing, nonprofit leadership, and distance learning.

Outside of his work at the McGuire Center, Randy is a former national-class runner who has become the leading voice in the region for running and fitness, producing numerous running events that raise funds for local charities and promote Tucson as a tourist destination. In addition, Randy has co-written two continuing education curriculum books (published by Desert Southwest Fitness) on how to coach runners, and has been published in the New York Times, Runner’s World, and elsewhere.
