The Dorrance Summer Entrepreneurship Experience, hosted by The University of Arizona’s top-ranked McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship, helps first-generation college students develop their own social (nonprofit) and commercial ideas. The program is designed to tap skills and talents in the sciences, social sciences, fine arts and humanities; and it affords students, no matter their primary field of study, the possibility of greater job satisfaction and financial rewards. The Dorrance Scholars who participate in the Experience come not only from The University of Arizona, but also from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Hawaii-Hilo. The Experience is led by Dr. Matthew Mars, Assistant Professor of Agricultural Leadership and Communication and Faculty Associate in the McGuire Center for Entrepreneurship.
